Sheryn Bullis
Art and international studies have been a life-long passion for Sheryn Bullis. After her junior collegiate year of studies in Paris, France, she deliberated over becoming an artist, an international art dealer, or a curator. She completed her double major Bachelor's in Fine Arts and in French, and decided to continue her education by getting a Master's in International Business. Her extensive affiliation with the international community led her to move abroad in 1994. For several years, she took part in the international art scene, working as a curator, exhibiting her own artwork, and volunteering as an art teacher. As of 2002, she began working as an artist full-time. In 2009, Sheryn returned to Portland, Oregon where she lives with her family. She makes private and corporate commissions, and has at least one solo exhibition a year. Her process is shaped as much by nature, music, and every-day life as it is by academic technique. "Although I spend many hours making each work of art through a process of layering mediums, and a great deal of pondering, my hope is that the viewer will get a sense of simplicity while viewing my paintings.” |
